PROPOSAL SECTION
State
Proposal 2026-1 A proposal to convene a constitutional convention for the purpose of drafting a general revision of the state constitution
Shall a convention of elected delegates be convened in 2027 to draft a general revision of the State Constitution for presentation to the state’s voters for their approval or rejection?
State
Proposal 2026-2 A proposed initiated law to prohibit campaign contributions from certain regulated utilities and government contractors and apply campaign finance laws and regulations to additional types of political communications
The proposal would: • Prohibit regulated electric and gas utilities, contractors with over $250,000 annually in government contracts, and people and organizations with substantial connections to these utilities/contractors from making direct or indirect campaign contributions to those who run for or hold offices that impact them. • Expand laws regulating spending on political communications, including those requiring disclosing donor information, to apply to communications clearly identifying candidates or ballot questions, even if they do not expressly advocate voting for/against them. • Expressly apply the law requiring disclosure of who paid for political communications to internet political communications. Should this proposal be adopted?
Your choiceCounty
Otsego County EMS and Rescue System
This millage is a renewal of the previously approved millage and will permit the County to continue to levy up to 0.78 mills ($0.78 per $1,000.00 of taxable valuation) to provide funds for the continued operations, maintenance, capital improvements, and capital purchases for the Otsego County Emergency Medical Services and Rescue System. Shall the constitutional tax rate limitation on general ad valorem taxes which may be levied by the County of Otsego, State of Michigan, against taxable property in the County be increased by up to 0.78 mills ($0.78 per $1,000.00 of taxable valuation) on the taxable value of such property for a period of five (5) years, 2028 through 2032, both inclusive, to provide funds for the continued operations, maintenance, capital improvements, and capital purchases for the Otsego County Emergency Medical Services and Rescue System and shall the Otsego County Board of Commissioners be authorized to levy such millage for these purposes? If approved and levied in its entirety, this millage would raise an estimated $1,580,482 for Otsego County in 2028. By law, the City of Gaylord Downtown Development Authority (DDA) may capture and retain only that portion of the millage which is collected from the properties located within the defined DDA District boundaries.
Your choiceIntermediate School District
Cheboygan-Otsego-Presque Isle Educational Service District Special Education Millage Renewal Proposal
This proposal will allow the intermediate school district to continue to levy special education millage previously approved by the electors. Shall the currently authorized millage rate limitation of 0.6231 mill ($0.6231 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation) on the amount of taxes which may be assessed against all property in Cheboygan-Otsego-Presque Isle Educational Service District, Michigan, to provide funds for the education of students with a disability, be renewed for a period of 6 years, 2027 to 2032, inclusive; the estimate of the revenue the intermediate school district will collect if the millage is approved and levied in 2027 is approximately $2,992,734 from local property taxes authorized herein (this is a renewal of millage that will expire with the 2026 tax levy)?
